Two Sides of Your Financial Life. One Team Handling Both.
We don't believe in fragmented advice. Your personal finances and your practice are connected — so we plan for both, together. Here's how we help.
Personal Financial Planning
Your money outside the practice — taxes, investments, retirement, and the life you want to build.
Tax Planning & Strategy
We don't prepare your taxes — we plan around them so you legally pay less of them. We look for every opportunity to reduce your tax bill: entity structure and S-corp elections, retirement plan contributions, qualified business income deductions, accountable plans, home office and vehicle strategies, charitable giving, tax-loss harvesting, and timing of income and expenses. We coordinate directly with your CPA — or connect you with one we trust if you don't have one yet — so nothing falls through the cracks between planning and filing.
Investment Review
We don't just buy index funds and call it a day. We use a mix of traditional investments and modern strategies — including downside protection, tax-loss harvesting, and tax-aware portfolio design — built to grow your money long-term and protect it when markets get rough.
Retirement Planning
We don't believe in "retire at 65 and stop." We believe in work optional — building the freedom to slow down, change direction, or stop completely on your terms. We'll map the path and set up the right accounts (Solo 401(k), SEP IRA, Cash Balance Plan, Backdoor Roth, or Traditional/Roth IRA) based on what you need.
Estate & Legacy Planning
Coordinated with estate attorneys to ensure your wishes are honored, your loved ones are protected, and your family doesn't carry the burden when something happens. Wills, healthcare proxies, beneficiary reviews, and trusts when needed — the basics most clinicians skip until it's too late.
Insurance Reviews
Disability, life, malpractice, umbrella, auto, and home — we review what you have, identify gaps, and shop the market on your behalf so you're properly covered without overpaying or being oversold. Especially critical if you're the breadwinner of the practice and the family.
Cash Flow & Savings Strategy
Irregular income, lumpy practice revenue, and the "am I saving enough question" — we map where your money goes, build a system that funds your goals automatically, and right-size your emergency fund for the realities of running (or working in) a practice. No shame, no spreadsheet homework — just clarity.
Debt Management
Student loans, credit cards, mortgages, HELOCs, practice debt — we review every balance, rate, and term to find where you're overpaying and where there's room to optimize. We model PSLF, SAVE, and refinancing for student loans, run payoff vs. invest analyses, look for credit score wins, and coordinate payoff strategy with your tax and cash flow plan. The goal: less interest paid, more money working for you.
Large Purchase Planning
Buying a home, investing in real estate, paying for college, weddings, sabbaticals — life's biggest financial moments don't fit in a normal budget. We help you plan ahead, run the numbers, and tap our network of lenders, attorneys, and other pros so you walk in prepared instead of overwhelmed.
Practice Planning & Advice
The business side of being a clinician — entity setup, profitability, taxes, and growing your practice.
Practice Launch & Formation
Starting a practice means a lot of decisions in a short window — entity choice (LLC, PLLC, etc.), EIN, malpractice, NPI, contracts, and how to set your fees. We walk you through each decision in the right order and coordinate with an attorney in our network if formal entity formation or contract review is needed. You get a real launch plan — not a Google Docs checklist.
Practice Systems Setup
The boring stuff that actually makes or breaks a practice — fee setting, business banking, credit cards, bookkeeping software, and a chart of accounts built for a mental health practice. We help you set it up cleanly from day one and connect you with a bookkeeper in our network who actually understands therapy practices. Prefer to DIY? We'll set you up to do it right.
Tax Strategy & S-Corp Election
The biggest dollar-impact decisions in your practice are tax decisions — and most clinicians leave thousands on the table every year. We look for every opportunity to legally reduce your tax bill: S-corp election timing, reasonable compensation, the QBI deduction, accountable plans, home office strategies, retirement contributions, and more. We model the real savings against the real costs, coordinate with your CPA, and revisit your structure every year.
Quarterly Profit & Tax Reviews
Every quarter we review your practice numbers — revenue, expenses, profit margin, and owner pay — alongside your tax projection and estimated payments. We adjust strategy based on what's actually happening, not what you guessed in January. No surprises in April, no scrambling in December, no guessing whether the practice is healthy.
Practice Cash Flow & Owner Compensation
How much should you pay yourself? How much to leave in the business? Owner's draw vs. reasonable S-corp salary, when to take distributions, how to build a reserve for slow months and tax payments — most practice owners wing this and either feel broke or get hit with a tax bill they can't cover. We build a system that pays you reliably, funds your taxes automatically, and keeps the practice healthy.
Hiring, Compensation & Employee Benefits
Going from solo to group is one of the biggest financial decisions a clinician makes — and most do it without modeling the economics. We help you decide W-2 vs. 1099, design comp models that actually work, and build out a benefits package — health, dental, disability, FSA/HSA — that helps you attract and keep great clinicians. We coordinate with employment attorneys, your CPA, and benefits brokers in our network so every hire makes the practice more profitable, not less.
Retirement Plans for You & Your Team
Solo 401(k), SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, Safe Harbor 401(k), Cash Balance Plan — the right plan depends on your income, your team size, and how much you want to shelter. We design the plan, coordinate with a TPA and recordkeeper, and make sure you're not leaving five or six figures of tax savings on the table every year. For group practices, we also help you use the plan as a recruiting and retention tool.
Practice Exit & Succession Planning
Selling to a partner, an associate, a private equity-backed group, or winding down on your terms — your practice is likely your largest asset, and most clinicians have no plan for it. We help you understand what your practice is worth, what drives that value, and how to structure an eventual transition in a way that's tax-efficient and protects your clients and team.
Find the Tier That Fits Where You Are
No two clinicians are in the same place. Whether you're a W-2 employee, a 1099 contractor, launching your first practice, growing a solo roster, or running a group practice — your financial plan should fit where you actually are, not where someone thinks you should be.Below are four tiers built around the realities of a clinician's career. Most clients start in one and graduate to the next as their practice and life evolve — and we work with you to make sure you're always in the right one.
